See article below for Chairman's update. Have a well-deserved break and 2018 Training restart dates to be confirmed shortly...

Dear All,

I hope this email finds you well and looking forward to the festive period. I thought I’d email out with some club updates at this mid-season Christmas break.

The club has had a great first half of the season. Amongst the adult teams, we’ve amassed 131 points, won 35 games and scored an incredible 197 goals. The Ladies 3s are currently top of their league where Kersti Meyer has scored 16 goals and is the current leading ladies goal scorer in the club. Kate Mehmood (Ladies 5s) has also scored an impressive 9 goals. In the Mens Section, Johnny Tibble (Mens 2s) and Tom Harris (Mens Pilgrims) each have 7 goals, with Tom Dumas (Mens 1s) being closely behind on 6. The ladies 2s have the best defensive record conceding just 9 goals in 10 games. Yes, you guessed it, I love our club stats which overall are looking great !!

The RPHC Colts Section continues to thrive and we are conscious that it would be very welcome news if we had further pitch space to increase capacity. It’s great to see the colts enjoying playing and also doing well in the leagues, for example the Boys Under 16s are currently top of the “Regional + Under 16 league “ and the Girls Under 16s are 2nd in the “Home Counties Under 16 B League”. There are also many other Colts Age Groups games, festivals, leagues and training which goes on. There has also been yet another record number of RPHC Colts getting through to County standard where 12 boys and 10 girls have achieved this honour. This is a fantastic achievement so well done to them. It also bodes very well for the club for the future.

The Club Mixed XI progressed to the next round of the National Mixed Competition which continues after Christmas. We’ve also had some fun socials starting with the Beachwear Social (when it was warm!) and then the Charity Family Fireworks Night where we had a huge number of members and supporters at the club who gave generously. Overall, we raised a fantastic amount of £1,077 for our nominated charity, MacMillan Cancer Support. We finished the 2017 social calendar with a very memorable night last weekend where it really meant a lot to me to see so many people at the club for the social.

I look forward to seeing you in 2018 where hopefully we can have a strong finish to the season. In the meantime, have a well-deserved break (if possible) over the festive period and happy new year.
