Match Report- Sunday 15th November
Woking 2 Reigate Pixies 6
In a fast-paced high-scoring mixed hockey affair Reigate Pixies ran out deserved winners away at Woking on a warm Sunday afternoon. Goalkeeper come striker convert Henry Williams showed his more illustrious teammates the art of finishing with a composed hat-trick. Tom Pickersgill and Matt Rankin also chipped in a goal apiece with “rock at the back” Rose Macpherson rounding of the scoring from a well worked short-corner routine.
Issi Keith and Josie Waine Wood (player of the match) provided both flair and creativity from wide areas ably supported by marauding wing-backs Ken Crawley and Howard Chick. Chris Podd in his first appearance in goal for Reigate Pixies made a couple of entertaining saves and can perhaps consider himself slightly unlucky to have been voted Dick of the Day after giving away a penalty flick for a slightly robust challenge on Woking’s centre forward.
With a strong mixed squad all of whom are keen to regularly turn out for the Pixies this year, Reigate are in a very strong position moving forward and skipper Tom Crees finds himself in the favourable position of having selection headaches. Next match is at RGS with push-back at 1pm on Sunday against Cheam. All support appreciated.
